The first week of school is complete and everyone is already learning so much! The children have settled in and have begun learning the basics of the Montessori Work Cycle. The teachers have been going over many Grace and Courtesy lessons, such as using words and manners, how to wait your turn/share, and how to return work as it was found. Students have also begun learning about Care of the Environment and Self. This includes things such as how to push in a chair, roll a mat, carry a tray, walk in the classroom, raise a quiet hand, use inside voices, and clean up a spill. These are essential lessons that help keep the peace and flow of the classroom.
Below are some photos to give you a glimpse of what our first week of school looked like! Stay tuned for more Montessori Children’s House updates!
