The PA Affiliate of the Council on American Private Education or PA CAPE recognizes the value of effective teaching and leadership that promote proficiency in student learning and influences the school with a positive culture. Each year they recognize excellence in both teaching and leadership and this year, Nona Melnick, Principal of the Montessori Children’s House in Horsham received the leadership award.
Nona was nomiated by Brenda Briefer who had the following kind words to share; “An administrator must go beyond the obvious of attracting and maintaining a warm functional educational system for all. A great administer fosters an environment that expresses loving, motivating, character building and self-worth in each student without excluding any student due to physical or learning differences. When a student displays characteristics that require intervention, proper measures are taken. My candidate possesses all of these qualities and more. Teaching is only one aspect of the daily repertoire at the school. Life lessons, character strength, respect and independence are the hallmark of her ideas and realization.”
Congratulations Nona and keep up the good work!
